Events and Community Engagement Coordinator
30 – 37.5 hrs week
$31.00 – $34.00/hour
Help shape the future of healthcare in our community.
At the Saugeen Shores Hospital Foundation, we’re entering one of the most exciting chapters in our history as we grow fundraising, strengthen community partnerships and create new ways for people to invest in exceptional healthcare close to home.
We’re looking for someone who wants to help make that happen.
This isn’t just an event planning job. It’s an opportunity to create experiences that inspire generosity, tell stories that move people to action, and build relationships that strengthen healthcare for generations to come. If you’re energized by people, ideas and purpose, we’d love to meet you.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead many of the Foundation’s public-facing activities, including:
- Planning and delivering signature fundraising events including Gran Fondo Lake Huron, Radiothon and donor appreciation events
- Recruiting, coordinating and recognizing our incredible volunteer team
- Creating engaging social media content, photography, video and community stories. Create polished, on-brand visual content for social media, posters, event signage, presentations, digital advertising, email campaigns and fundraising materials.
- Managing our annual communications calendar across social, digital and traditional media
- Coordinating advertising and promotional campaigns
- Identifying and sharing inspiring stories that demonstrate the impact of local philanthropy
- Helping create exceptional experiences for donors, sponsors, volunteers and community partners
We’re looking for someone who:
- Loves bringing people together
- Gets excited about planning events people remember
- Can tell a compelling story through words, photos and social media. Has an eye for good design and can create professional, engaging graphics using Canva or similar design software.
- Enjoys turning ideas into eye-catching visual content that reflects a consistent brand.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same
- Is organized, creative and highly dependable
- Enjoys building relationships with volunteers, donors, and community partners
- Is comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- Doesn’t mind occasional evenings and weekends for special events
Strong digital communication skills, including proficiency with Canva and social media platforms, are required. The successful candidate must be able to create polished, on-brand graphics and content for social media, posters, event signage, presentations, and email campaigns.
Experience with Office 365, Meta Business Suite, constant contact and raceroster and basic photo or video editing is considered an asset. Experience in fundraising, events, communications, marketing or community engagement is an asset, but attitude, curiosity and enthusiasm matter just as much.
Our culture
We’re a small team with big ambitions. We’re always looking for better ways to engage our community, tell meaningful stories and create exceptional experiences for our supporters.
If you’re someone who enjoys building, improving and making a visible difference, you’ll fit right in.
Why this work matters
Every event you coordinate, every volunteer you inspire and every story you tell helps improve healthcare for families across our region.
