Gran Fondo Lake Huron Celebrates Record-Breaking Year for Local Healthcare
We are thrilled to announce that riders and supporters of the 2026 Gran Fondo Lake Huron presented by Bruce Power and Suppliers raised over $516 000. 00 and counting for local healthcare, surpassing the event’s $500,000 goal and setting a new fundraising record!
More than 815 riders took part in this year’s Gran Fondo, supported by over 100 volunteers and an incredible community of donors, sponsors and supporters who helped make the day possible.
From the first riders leaving the start line in Southampton to the final celebrations at the Coliseum, it was an incredible day. Riders travelled scenic routes throughout Saugeen Shores and beyond, with the famous butter tarts along the way never disappointing. Back at the finish, Jim’s BBQ was once again a rider favourite, serving up fresh open BBQ chicken, while the Southampton Rotary Club hosted the bar with local Three Sheets beverages and more.
There were also some exciting new additions this year. Key to Care was a huge success, giving riders the chance to win five fantastic prizes while generating even more support for local healthcare. Our first Gran Fondo 50/50 ended with one very happy winner, and with the other half of the pot going directly to local healthcare, there was even more reason to celebrate.
We were proud to welcome back many longtime sponsors and partners and excited to welcome new supporters to the Gran Fondo family. Individual riders and teams also took their fundraising to new heights, with many breaking their own previous records and helping push this year’s total higher than ever before.
While we’re incredibly proud of the record-breaking number, what it represents matters even more.
Behind every dollar raised is a rider who asked for one more donation, a volunteer who gave their time, a sponsor who stepped up, a donor who chose to give and a community that continues to show just how much local healthcare matters. Together, those individual acts of generosity add up to something much bigger, helping ensure the people we love can access the best possible care, close to home.
To our riders, volunteers, donors, sponsors, supporters and everyone who cheered along the routes, thank you. This record belongs to all of you.
