13,458 Cookies. One Incredible Community Impact.
April 27 – May 3
13,458 Cookies. One Incredible Community Impact.
What started as a fun community challenge turned into something truly meaningful for local healthcare.
During the 2026 Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign, the Tim Hortons restaurants in Port Elgin and Southampton rallied the community around the “10,000 Cookie Community Challenge” in support of Saugeen Shores Hospital Foundation and healthcare close to home.
Together, this incredible community purchased 13,458 Smile Cookies, helping raise an amazing $27,153 for local healthcare.
From early mornings and busy drive-thrus to community cookie deliveries, decorated cookies, and friendly competition throughout the week, the campaign was powered by generosity, teamwork, and community spirit.
The challenge invited the community to come together with one shared goal, reaching 10,000 cookies sold in support of patients and families across our region. Not only did the community meet that goal, it exceeded it in a big way.
A heartfelt thank you to the Tim Hortons restaurant owners in Saugeen Shores, their managers, staff, and everyone behind the counters who worked tirelessly throughout the campaign. Thank you as well to the volunteers who helped decorate cookies and support the week’s activities, and to every single person who purchased a Smile Cookie.
What may have seemed like a small gesture, buying a cookie, added up to a remarkable impact for healthcare close to home.
This campaign was a beautiful reminder of what is possible when a community comes together with kindness, generosity, and a shared commitment to caring for one another. 🍪💙

75 for 75 Birthday Celebration
Some birthdays are worth celebrating in a truly meaningful way, and Geordie showed us exactly what that looks like.
On March 21, Geordie marked her 75th birthday with an incredible personal challenge:
• 75 lengths in the pool
• 75 minutes on the bike
• 7.5 km on the run
But this was never just about the challenge. It was about love, legacy, and purpose. Geordie set out to grow the Earl Farrell Endowment Fund to $100,000 in honour of her late husband, Earl, and she did it.
Her determination means this fund will continue to support patient comfort and care at our hospital, not just today, but for years to come. That is the power of an endowment. It creates something lasting, with impact for generations.
Geordie, thank you for turning your birthday into something so meaningful. Your strength, generosity, and love for Earl have created a legacy that will touch countless lives in our community.
And to everyone who supported her along the way, thank you for being part of something truly special.
This is what community looks like.

- Shawflex vs Bruce Power Hockey for Healthcare (Community)
“What an afternoon on the ice.
Shawflex and Bruce Power faced off in a friendly hockey showdown and local healthcare came out the big winner.
With $2,000 committed from each team, $4,000 was raised in support of Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation before the final buzzer even sounded.
Now that’s a rivalry we can get behind.
A huge thank you to both Shawflex and Bruce Power for being long-time supporters of our hospital foundation and for continuing to show up in such a fun and meaningful way.
We are so grateful for partners who bring their team spirit, community pride, and generosity together like this.
No matter the final score, this community wins.
Thank you for making it possible.” - All Day Picnic Backyard Ultra (community)
